About TI India and the Lok Sevak Sangh We are a non-party, not-for-profit voluntary organisation dedicated to the service of the people of India. We are associated with Servants of the People Society (SOPS) - founded by the patriot-martyr Lala Lajpat Rai and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1921. The Lok Sevak Sangh is a wing of Delhi Branch of Servants of the People Society. The focus of Transparency International India (TI India) is to study and secure changes in laws, systems and procedures to bring about containment of corruption through greater transparency and accountability. It acts as the India Chapter of Transparency International, a world wide voluntary organisation based at Berlin with national chapters in more than 90 countries. The Lok Sevak Sangh (LSS), on the other hand, has its focus on direct action projects like rural development, literacy, poverty alleviation etc. Both LSS and TI-India work jointly. Treasurer : Mr. Arun Duggal Media-Coordinator : Mr. Onkar Razdan Hony Secy. : Mr. J S Rana (Finance & Accounts) Activities * As a consequence to the non-legislation of Lok Pal (Federal Ombudsman) by our successive Governments, LSS and TI-India have taken the initiative and established a People's Lok Pal (Federal Ombudsman) Commission consisting of some eminent retired judges * LSS has adopted a cluster of villages to undertake a programme of literacy, vocational training for girls and primary health services/FONT> * LSS/TI-India are actively involved in the areas of electroral reforms and voters education. LSS/TI-India are also pursuing the much needed legislation on Citizens Right to Information. All membes of TI-India and LSS are kept informed of our activities through a monthly Bulletin. The subscription rate for membership of LSS & TI India each for Indian Citizens is Rs. 100/- per year or Rs. 1000/- as one-time payment for life. For non-resident Indians, including Persons of Indian Origin(PIOs) settled abroad, the membership subscription is either US $ 25 annually or one time payment of US $ 100 as a life member. While sending any remittance, full particulars regarding name, postal address, occupation telephone and fax numbers and email address will enable us to acknowledge receipts & keep you posted on activities and developments. All payments are gratefully acknowledged and receipt sent to the donor/member/organisation. TI India is also registered with the Government of India under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) and contributions are exempted u/s 80G from income-tax.
